Located in St. Charles, Illinois, the Scarecrow Fesitval is one of my favorite fesitvals to visit every year. This year was dominated by the lovable minions from the movie, Despicable Me.

Garfield Park Conservatory is still recovering from the hail that broke many of their glass roof tiles years ago, but their plant collection is still thriving and beautiful.

2013/07/01 - Milwaukee Zoo (44 Photos)
I can never get enough of the Big Cat exhibit at this zoo! It truly is the best way to view tigers compared to other zoos I've visited.

A trip to Brookfield Zoo that included the dolphin show which we usually skip. A friend had free passes so we gave it a chance but I have to admit it was mostly boring.

Nice forest preserve located in St. Charles, IL. Today was the grand opening of the new Creek Bend Nature Center on site.

Captured some great shots of different birds at the center during this visit, particularly a bald eagle and a peregrine falcon!

2013/05/13 - Lilacia Park & Morton Arboretum (49 Photos)
We finally visited Lilacia Park in Lombard (photos 1-29) during full bloom and it did not disappoint. Between the gragrent lilacs and beautiful tulips and daffodils it was heaven. Afterwards we took in some pretty blooming trees at Morton Arboretum in Lisle (photos 30-49).

2013/04/27 - LEGO Show (25 Photos)
Every year the Northern Illinois LEGO Train Club puts together a beautiful display of LEGOs. This year the show was at the Helen Plum library in Lombard, Illinois.

2013/04/07 - Oak Park Conservatory (32 Photos)
This little conservatory not only has pretty flowers but quite a few animals as well. My favorite are the birds.
